ANNOUNCING THE PLEASANT HILL GIRL SCOUT ASSOCIATION ADOPT-A-WATERSHED KICK-OFF!!

The first 80 people will get the chance to participate in one of two exciting activities on Saturday, June 3rd as we kick off our Association's on-going relationship with the Friends of Rodeo, Refugio and Carquinez Watersheds (FRRCW). This program is part of the Council's Bold Audacious Project - Girl Scouts Save The Bay!

  • Join up to 60 people (troops, friends, families...) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm to do a creek clean-up of Rodeo Creek with Karin Korda of FRRCW - All ages welcome.
  • Join only 20 people (troops, friends, families - 4th Grade Juniors and older, please) from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm to help with a grass seed collection at San Pablo Creek with Botanist Dr. Dean Kelch of FRRCW. These seeds will later be propagated at the FRRCW greenhouse in Crockett - see below.

If you are interested in either of these projects, please contact Meredith Davis soon. Each group will be responsible for its own SafetyWise compliance.

If you can't make it on June 3rd, we will be arranging other activities for later dates, or...

You can visit the greenhouse in Crockett for a few hours during 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on the last Saturday of any month, beginning July 2006 and help FRRCW grow the plants that will be transferred back to the creek sites. If you are interested in this activity, please contact FRRCW at least one week before you wish to go. Please advise her of the ages of your girls, so she can have appropriate tasks planned.

Please contact Meredith Davis or Barbara Jean Guiot (Your Association GSSTB Champions) if you have any questions. And remember, GIRL SCOUTS WILL SAVE THE BAY!
